So Our Adoption Saga Continues...

Sorry for such a long delay in posting an update. We returned to the US at the begining of July and have been waiting and waiting for the Ukrainian system to process our adoption paperwork. We were told August 4th would be when the town council would meet again and we could ask for a court date shortly after that to finalize the Ukrainian adoption process. However, the town council (who appoints the judges for the upcoming court sessions) has now decided to postpone this meeting to Aug. 28th, which would then make our court date in Sept or Oct. Our facilitator has explained that political infighting is causing the problems. She is currently submitting a petition for another adoptive family to be heard before another court in a nearby city and if that goes well we should be able to do the same. She hopes to hear something by the end of this week for the other family so hopefully we will know the court date and get Igor home soon.
