The following is a general break down of the finances needed.
Since Dave speaks Russian and bothof us have been and stayed in Kiev (8 weeks) we are going to try and save as much money by staying in friends places instead of renting an apartment.
The adoption process can take up to several months to complete and will require us to possibly make up to 3 separate trans Atlantic round trips to the Ukraine.
Plane tickets will run around $1500 per round trip per person times 3 trips plus Igor's one way ticket $10,000
Food, housing, in-country travel, donation to orphanage and Project 143, medical exam for Igor and US Embasy fees $5,000

Our services prior to adopting parents arrival to Ukraine include:
· Timely providing the adopting family with the most recent and accurate information about regulations and requirements of the international adoption process in United States and Ukraine
· Expeditious translation of the entire dossier in Ukraine
· Expeditious legalization of the entire dossier in Ukraine
· Facilitating expeditious submission of dossier to the State Department of Adoptions of Ukraine and monitoring the process of legal verifications of the dossier
· Obtaining the family’s invitation letter and informing the family on the arrival date to Ukraine to proceed with the adoption process in country
· Providing the family with the list of documents to be brought to Ukraine for successful adoption process at the time of travel
· Reserving/preparing of all logistics/accommodations well in advance to avoid last minute rush
· Familiarizing the adoptive family to the customs and traditions in Ukraine. Ensuring the family is comfortable and confident to undertake the adoption journey to Ukraine.
Our services after prospective parents arrival to Ukraine, at minimum, include:
· Accompanying, representing and “hand-holding” the adopting family THROUGHOUT the adoption process, insuring the family’s security in Ukraine, protecting family's interests at state, governmental bodies and court authorities. EXPEDITING the entire process. Insuring family’s expectations are fully met while understanding individual needs and preferences of each family
· Meeting the adopting family at airports/railway stations in Ukraine during all adoption related arrivals/departures
· Arranging well in advance all accommodations for the adopting family throughout the adoption process according to family’s preferences (in Kiev and during regional travel). Welcome orientation is awaiting the family at the time of first arrival to Kiev.
· Accompanying the adopting family to the State Department of Adoptions (SDA) appointment to select the child(ren) to be adopted. Provision of moral support, essential in this emotional process
· Accompanying the adopting family to collect the referral from the State Department of Adoptions to proceed with adoption in the region
· Reserving/preparing of all travel arrangements to go to the region of adoption (train/air/car/bus transfer to region, car and driver in region, apartment rent in region, etc.). Done as soon as possible to avoid last minute rush
· Accompanying the adopting family to the regional State Services for Children for preliminary meetings and documentation clearances required by law
· Obtaining the necessary referral from State Services for Children to meet the child at the orphanage where s/he is residing
· Accompanying the adopting family to the orphanage (where orphans are domiciled) and assisting in all communications with the director of the orphanage, senior staff, children caregivers, medical staff, the child(ren)
· Working with the Regional Department of Children Services (inspector and director of department) to EXPEDITIOUSLY prepare and sign all documents (10 to 20 documents!) required by SDA
· Accompanying the family to the notary to make several notarized statements pertaining to adoption as required by law
· Helping the family to prepare and legalize necessary written petitions to local and national government institutions confirming parents would like to adopt the child they were referred to
· Working with orphanage senior staff to EXPEDITIOUSLY prepare and sign all documents required from the orphanage by SDA
· Immediately notarizing, transferring to Kiev and submitting to SDA documents prepared in the region. Adopting parents do not need to travel to Kiev for this purpose
· Receiving documentation clearances from SDA allowing to proceed with the adoption process and initiate the court hearing
· Preparing for court. Doing everything possible to schedule the court hearing on/a NEXT DAY after SDA approves all documents received from the region. Accompanying adopting parents to the court hearing and providing translation during the hearing. ENSURING the court decision is in favor of adopting parents!
· Decreasing the after court waiting period from 30 (or more) to 10 days (minimum allowed by law – “immediate execution”). Sometimes, we are able to decrease the waiting period to ONE day.
· Immediately signing off, translating and notarizing all after-court documents

Applying for and EXPEDITIOUSLY obtaining new birth certificate for the newly adopted child(ren). As necessary, EXPEDITIOUSLY obtaining individual tax code and citizenship document for the adopted child(ren) (required in some regions).

Applying for and EXPEDITIOUSLY obtaining child(ren)’s passport (travel document)
· Reserving/preparing all travel arrangements to go from the region of adoption (train/air/car/bus transfer to back to Kiev, car and driver in Kiev, apartment rent in Kiev, etc.). Done as soon as possible to avoid last minute rush. Accompanying the adopting parents and child(ren) back to Kiev
· Legalizing new birth certificate and the court decision in Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine, if necessary
· Translation of all post-adoption documents (to include court decision, new birth certificate, adoption certificate (if necessary), medical records, etc.
· Organizing (in advance) and accompanying parents to the medical consultation and testing for the newly adopted child(ren) by a U.S. Embassy-licensed medical center.
· Scheduling an appointment in advance and visiting U.S. Embassy in Kiev to receive an immigrant entry visa for the child/children, facilitating this process and ensuring safe departure from Ukraine
· Logistical preparations for departure to United States
· Advising the family of the necessary steps of post-adoption obligations with regard to U.S. and Ukrainian governments
· In addition to covering all above work and fees, the standard country fee also covers: 1. translating and notarizing ALL documentation coming up during the adoption process; 2. honorarium of manager and facilitator of adoption process (at least TWO people are needed to work efficiently and to ensure the process goes as fast as possible and the family does not feel dependant on one person); 3. all facilitators’ communication and copying expenses.
Please, note the family is responsible to cover the following expenses: Cost of food (note: individual wishes of family rather than coordinator will be the priority in selection of places to eat, but family pays for all food expenses); Cost of all housing expenses necessary to achieve success in adoption process (note: individual wishes of family rather than regional facilitator who may stay with the family will be the housing selection priority - we have from very economical all the way to luxurious housing accessible for daily rent); Cost of all transportation associated with success of adoption process (note: individual wishes of family will be the selection priority - we have representative and economy class vehicles, but ALL are safe with experienced drivers + options to go by bus/train/plane); Costs of U.S. medical exam and visa(s) for adopted child(ren); Donation to the orphanage.
